Austral Pets Terms and Conditions

By booking with Austral Pets (online, in person, or via phone), you are agreeing to all the T&C and policies set out below:

Pet Boarding

General Admission Policy

Austral Pets reserves the right to deny admission to any pet for any reason.
To board at Austral Pets, all pets must be aged 13 weeks or over and are required to have their 3rd initial vaccination in order for their vaccination to be current
The owner must present a non-expired vaccination certificate with C5 or higher for dogs, and F3 or higher for cats.
It is the client’s full responsibility to provide current vaccination certificates that meet the minimum requirement for boarding. This must be presented before the pet can be accepted by Austral Pets. Vaccination records may be able to be stored until expiration, however client’s should still bring in any relevant documentation for the pet to be admitted.
If a pet is due to be vaccinated, it must occur 7 – 14 days before boarding.
Cats must be brought in an IATA approved cat carrier which cannot be broken or hazardous to the pet. Other small pets must be brought in a secure enclosed carrier.
Dogs must be restrained on a lead.
The owner accepts full liability for any damage or loss caused by pets to Austral Pets or to client’s of Austral Pets, whether the pet is restrained or unrestrained.
A 3 day minimum charge is applied to every boarding booking.
By boarding your pet with us, you consent to the Austral Pets team providing any necessary services your pet may require. These incidental expenses during the pet’s stay may be charged on the owner’s credit card, or will be payable on or prior to pick-up.
This may include but is not limited to baths, haircut or de-matting in order to prevent the pet from being in pain, flea/tick/worm treatments if your pet is observed to require them, or change of diet if your pet is not getting their nutritional needs met with what you’ve provided. Austral Pets will only provide/administer additional services if required for the health, safety, or comfortability of your pet while in our care.

Medication: Austral Pets requires any instruction for administration of medication to be in writing and our staff will follow those instructions as closely as possible. All medication is to be clearly labelled with prescribed dosage.
Medication is charged at a storage fee per day inline with your pet’s duration of stay, whether or not the pet requires it daily.
It is the responsibility of the client to ensure all belongings are with the pet on departure, including medication. Forgotten items will be held for 30 days to be claimed by the owner.

Bookings

All bookings require payment in full on Check-In
For Pet Taxi pick ups: Bookings require payment in full prior to the Pet Taxi pick up
If the owner is unable to be reached and the payment hasn’t been made in full prior to the Pet Taxi pick up, the Pet Taxi will not be dispatched.
Austral Pets are unable to put a hold on any booking.
Bookings are confirmed once a booking deposit has been made and once an invoice has been issued.
A $50.00 deposit is required for all bookings that must be paid at the time of booking.
Christmas Period bookings require a $100.00 deposit which must be paid at the time of booking.
All booking deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Quoted amounts are subject to price fluctuation, and are not confirmed until an invoice has been issued.
Walk-ins without bookings may not be accepted, or may incur additional costs
Booking extensions are only permitted once the owner has requested and Austral Pets have confirmed, until then the pet must be collected on the day originally booked or an overdue check out fee may apply.
Austral Pets may require the client’s credit card information. By boarding your pet with us, you consent to any owing amount being charged from the card provided.
If for whatever reason an owner is unable to pick up a pet on the date originally booked for check out and Austral Pets cannot accommodate a booking extension, it is the owner’s responsibility to make alternative arrangements for the pet to be collected on the booked check out date.
Overdue Checkout fees apply if a pet is not picked up on their check out date without consent for a booking extension from Austral Pets.
Out of Hours Check ins or Outs will not be accepted
If an owner gives notice of an Out of Hours pick up or drop off that Austral Pets accepts, additional fees apply.

Deposits & Cancellations

Cancellation within 24 hours of a booking being made: Will be fully refundable including the booking deposit.
Cancellations after 24 hours of a booking being made: Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. Any additional amount paid besides the deposit will be refundable or transferable to a future booking.
Deposits will not be refunded for pets unable to be accepted for boarding due to behavioural or medical reasons, or who are not able to provide relevant vaccination certificates.
The full length of the booking will be charged, including up to the original day booked for check-out. Booking extensions may be available and will need to be requested.

Payments

Bookings must be paid in full prior to your pets arrival or when you drop your pet off.
You authorise Austral Pets PTY LTD to debit your credit card with any amount owing
You certify that you are over 18 years of age
Booking extensions must be paid at the time the owner requests the extension, or at the time of pickup only with the permission of Austral Pets.
Any additional costs your pet may incur while boarding with us will be charged to you.
Booking extensions and any unpaid balances may be charged from the credit card provided.
Boarding rates are charged on a per-calendar-day basis. By boarding your pet with us, you agree to pay the rate for boarding effective on the date booked for check-in to the date booked for check out. (Refer to Cancellation Policy for early pick ups or late drop offs).
You agree to pay all costs and charges for special services booked for your pet’s stay. Cancellation of these services after a booking has been made may not be possible to refund and may still be charged as they were booked in and scheduled.
In the case of late or overdue payments to Austral Pets PTY LTD, or if the payment is not available when required, in addition to the invoice amount, the Customer is fully liable for:
(a) Interest rate of 10% – 25% and
(b) Any collections fees, legal fees, or third party fees in relation to the collection of funds.
Terms

Your pet’s wellbeing is a number one priority for Austral Pets and its Employees. That being said, it is the owner’s responsibility to assess whether their pet is fit for boarding. This should be heavily considered especially before boarding senior pets, young pets, anxious pets, or pets with behavioural issues which may present issues when boarding.
Austral Pets and its Employees take every care to ensure your pet remains healthy for the duration of their stay. Under no circumstances will Austral Pets, its employees or agents, be held responsible for Paralysis Tick, Canine Influenza, injury, death, loss or damage of any kind whatsoever, whether or not caused by any negligent, act or omission of Austral Pets, its employees or agents, that may occur to any pet staying at Austral Pets.
Austral Pets reserves the right to adjust/change the pet’s services to ensure the safety and welfare of all pets staying at Austral Pets.
When boarding a pet, the owner or agent of the owner putting the pet in Austral Pet’s care certifies that he or she is the sole owner of the pet or acting as an agent of the owner, and is free and clear of all liens and encumbrances and is solely responsible for any and all acts or behaviour of the pet while it is in Austral Pets.
The pet will be delivered to any person who is prepared to declare that they have the owners’ authority to do so unless otherwise instructed in writing.
By boarding your pet with Austral Pets, you hereby allow your pet to be photographed and/or filmed, which will occur only at Austral Pet’s premises in a controlled situation. Photographs and/or footage may be used by Austral Pets for promotional or advertising purposes.
By boarding your pet with Austral pets, you certify to the accuracy of all information given about the pet.
Acceptance of Terms and Conditions: All pet owners wishing to engage our services agree with these terms and conditions. A copy of these terms and conditions is available on the official Austral Pet’s website and must be read and agreed to. Terms and conditions as well as prices may be changed at any time by Austral Pets Pty Ltd. By engaging in Austral Pets services, you acknowledge and accept Austral Pets Pty Ltd terms and conditions.
Our facility is open to the public from Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4pm. Saturdays from 8.30am to 2pm. All kennel viewings are to be booked in at a time agreed to
All items such as bedding, blankets, toys, etc must be clearly marked with the dog’s name and family surname. We will not accept any liability for loss of items. Austral Boarding will not be liable for items that the dog has damaged that have been supplied by the owner.
Visitations for boarded pets are to be limited to one hour per week with prior arrangements done with our office

Abandonment

Pet Owners who arrange for pet care services via Austral Pets and fail to retrieve their dog within fourteen (14) days after the end date of their booking (or the time period set forth in the applicable jurisdiction’s animal abandonment or cruelty laws, if earlier), agree that Austral Pets may, in its sole discretion, place such dog in foster care and/or notify animal control authorities. Pet Owner agrees that Pet Owner will reimburse Austral Pets for all costs and expenses associated with such action, and Pet Owner may become liable and subject to laws relating to Pet Owner’s failure to retrieve Pet Owner’s dog, including abandonment or animal cruelty laws
If a boarded animal is not picked up by the owner within 14 days after the booked impounded period, then it will be assumed that the owner has disowned the animal and therefore becomes the property of Austral Pets. Austral Pets will take all necessary action to re-home the animal and any amounts owing to Austral Pet will be recovered as a small claims through the local courts

Vet

By boarding your pet with Austral Pets, you agree to pay all veterinary costs for your pet incurred during the time the pet is in Austral Pet’s care
By boarding your pet with Austral Pets you agree to pay all transportation and handling fees incurred if your pet required a Vet visit.
Payment of veterinary treatment is due at the time of collection or return of the pet.
In the case where the owner or the emergency contact cannot be contacted before treatment, the course of treatment shall be at the sole discretion of the attending Veterinarian. In the case where an incident or an illness has occurred and a pet is going through unnecessary pain and considered as inhumane to continue, and no contact with the owner or the emergency contact can be established, the Veterinarian has the permission to euthanize the pet. Austral Boarding and the Veterinarian will be indemnified from any liability.
Grooming

The client confirms the pet is fit and healthy, grooming which takes place on an elderly or unfit pet will be at the owner’s risk. Grooming may expose pre-existing healthskin conditions for which Austral Pets PTY LTD cannot be held liable.
The client is advised not to feed their pet the day of grooming, or the night before for morning appointments.
The client agrees to inform staff prior to the pet’s groom
ing session if the pet has bitten or has aggressive tendencies.
The client understands that if the pet is unwell with sickness, diarrhoea, on heat, has a contagious disease or infection, then the client will inform Austral Pets and agree to reschedule the appointment.
The client agrees and is fully responsible for their pet’s vaccination being up to date with the minimum requirements (Dogs: C5, Cats: F3) unless otherwise discussed due to a medical exemption.
The client will advise if the dog has any allergies, requires medication, has sore limbs or recently had a fall/surgery, also if the dog can have treats.
The client is fully responsible for disclosing any allergies or sensitivities a dog may have in order for the groomer to select the appropriate grooming supplies to use. It will be assumed the pet has no allergies or sensitivities unless otherwise disclosed by the owner.
By engaging in Austral Pets Grooming services, the client agrees that they have read and understood what the service they have purchased entails, and that the service is to be completed at full discretion of the groomer attending to the pet.
The client understands that senior pets may have underlying conditions that can be aggravated during or after normal grooming procedures.
Minor accidental cuts are always a risk with every dog groom and are more likely to occur with energetic dogs or dogs with no prior grooming experience, all for which Austral Pets PTY LTD cannot be held liable.
At the discretion of the salon pets may be crated, tethered or separated for the protection of themselves and other animals within the salon. Pets that display aggression towards the groomer or other dogs will be separated and muzzles used if deemed necessary. Owners may be asked to collect their pet if they present a danger to team members, other animals or themselves.
At all times, staff have the right to refuse to work with difficult dogs or with behavioural problems, but they will endeavour to do everything within their knowledge to help your dog enjoy the process of being groomed.
Austral Pets PTY LTD reserves the right to refuse service to any pet or client for any reason.
If the dog is accepted for grooming and displays uncooperative behaviour, the groom may be terminated without being finished. If this occurs, the client will be contacted to collect the dog with a minimum of 50% of the grooming cost owed. This is subject to increase depending how much grooming was able to be completed.
The client understands that if the pet presents with fleas, the grooming may be ceased at full expense to the client, as well as a $75 clean down cost to prevent any further contamination of animals within the establishment.
No-Shows

It is considered a “no-show” when the client is not available at the scheduled appointment time and does not contact the groomer to cancel or reschedule.

We reserve the right to charge the FULL grooming fee due to the loss of revenue caused by a “no-show”. Please make every effort to call and cancel or reschedule when possible to avoid such situations.
Cancellations

The client must provide the salon at least 24 hours notice before the appointment date of cancellation.
A 10% Cancellation Fee applies to cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment date.
Payment

Payment is to be made at the time of service. Payment can be cash, or card. Our rates are based on the size/breed of the pet and duration of the groom.
Nail cutting and ear cleaning are included in most full-services, however no discounts apply if the process is too stressful for the pet or too dangerous for the groomer.
Austral Pets’ grooming prices are subject to change. The prices stated are to be used as a guide only All phone inquiries will be given a guide and a firm price will be given on arrival to the salon. Additional surcharges for matting, undercoat removal & fleas may apply if required.
Additional charges may apply if your pet requires special attention because of aggression or other behaviour issues (due to the extra time required).
In the case of late or overdue payments to Austral Pets PTY LTD, or if the payment is not available on the completion of the service, in addition to the invoice amount, the Customer is fully liable for:
(a) Interest rate of 10% – 25% and
(b) Any collections fees, legal fees, or third party fees in relation to the collection of funds.
Vet Trip

In the event of an emergency, in your absence, you authorise Austral Pets PTY LTD to transport your pet to a Vet and the course of treatment shall be at the sole discretion of the attending Veterinarian at your expense.
You agree to pay all veterinary costs your pet incurs including all transportation and handling fees if your pet requires a Vet visit. Payment of veterinary treatment is due at the time of collection or return of the pet.

Fur Matting

Any matting the client is aware of must be disclosed prior to arrival to account for additional time required to remove.
If matting is discovered during a grooming session, we maintain a duty of care to the pet to remove any matting at full cost to the client. Matting removal takes extreme care and extra time, due to this there will be additional charges depending on the severity of the matting.
If the pet is matted, groomers will not complete any bathing-only services. Coats require a Full Groom at this stage.
The client should be aware that pre-existing hot spots, sores, and other skin issues are commonly found once a matted coat is removed. There is also a chance your pet’s skin may become irritated due to clipping close to the skin. De-matting may expose pre-existing healthskin problems for which All Austral Pets PTY LTD cannot be held liable.
